Chuppah songs: how to choose a chuppah entrance song for your most emotional moment

Practical tips for choosing a chuppah entrance song: Hebrew or international, original or cover, and how to time the walk to the music.

A bride and groom at their wedding

Walking to the chuppah takes a minute or two, but it's the moment everyone stops for. All the guests turn around, the phones come up, and that's where the right song makes all the difference. I've accompanied hundreds of couples through this moment, and these are the things I recommend thinking about.

Hebrew or international?

There's no single right answer. A Hebrew song usually connects to roots, family and the guests' immediate emotion, because everyone understands every word. An international song, especially an instrumental version or a piano and strings arrangement, gives a clean, cinematic feeling. One song or two? That's entirely a matter of taste. If one song for the two of you feels complete and captures exactly what you wanted, then one song is the right choice for you. If you'd like a unique blend of two different worlds, if each of you has your own favourite, or if your vision for the walk to the chuppah moves between styles, or from an emotional mood to an energetic one, or anything else you can imagine, then choose two songs.

The musical editing that brings it all together precisely is on me :) !

The lyrics matter, even when nobody listens closely

More than once a song that sounds romantic is actually about a breakup or unrequited love.

Before you decide, read the lyrics to the end.

Timing the walk

Once you've chosen your song or songs for the walk to the chuppah, I'll edit each one for you to fine-tune the timing of your entrances, so everything happens in perfect sync and we get the most out of the emotion of every song.

Original or arrangement?

Quiet arrangements for piano, strings or guitar work beautifully at the chuppah; they leave room for emotion instead of competing with it. If you've chosen an upbeat song, look for an acoustic version, or we can create a cool edit that joins the original with the acoustic version, giving you a new version that builds in energy. It all depends on your taste and your vision, so let your imagination run free and let me bring it to life in the most moving way possible :)

Where to start looking?

To save you hours of searching, I built a chuppah songs collection with entrance playlists in Hebrew and English. Every song in it was chosen from the experience of more than 600 weddings. Listen together, mark what moves you, and we'll settle the rest in the planning meeting.
